Missin’ Tackle Shanty Crew’s origins lie in their formation as a result of a play performed in Brixham Theatre in 2015. Thus, they have a huge fondness for the theatre and all that they do for the Brixham community.
In more recent years the crew have held their own fund raising concert to help raise funds for the theatre and last year sang before the showing of the second Fishermens Friends film. Currently, Missin’ Tackle are a crew of seven, performing shanties, sea songs as well as the odd folk song. Their love of the sea and its rich heritage comes though in their enthusiasm for what they do.
As well as singing locally in Brixham and through out Torbay they have performed in a number of shanty festivals in including Teignmouth and Weston-Super-Mare and have performed in France in a small town music festival near Roscoff.
