Project X is a group of very enthusiastic, adult amateur dramatic locals who want to support our lovely Brixham Theatre and have fun!

The group has been in existence since 2018, meeting regularly except during Covid, facilitating internal theatre and performance related workshops and producing live shows for Brixham Theatre. All profits from productions have been ploughed back into Brixham Theatre facility development.
To date, our live performances at the theatre have included:
- a run of a successful Comedy Sketch Show, Comedy Bites, involving the performance of 12 sketches and 6 songs
- a fun, audience interactive Murder Mystery play called ‘Bowing Out’
- a spoof Agatha Christie type play called ‘Murdered to Death’
The latter raised £2k profit for the charity that runs the theatre.
Our next production will be ‘Play On ’by Rick Abbott in mid- March 2024.
‘Play On’ is a fore-runner of ’Noises Off’ and the West End hit ‘The play that goes wrong’. It’s a play within a play, with the first act set at a rehearsal, the second at the dress rehearsal and third a performance of the play itself. It all goes disastrously and hilariously wrong!
If you’d like to find out more and see if Project X is for you, we are a very friendly group!

You can come to a meeting/initial try out for Play On on Monday 30th October 2023 at 7pm at Brixham Theatre (Stage Door/ Scala Hall Theatre entrance – ring the Stage Door bell 6:30-6:55 for access)

Rehearsals begin in earnest Monday evenings January to mid-March 2024, with additional rehearsals to be scheduled nearer to the performance dates.
Like most amateur groups, we welcome adults of all ages and experience and hope for a mix of people from which to cast our plays. Backstage help is also very welcomed.
